With the Moto X, Motorola succeeded in (briefly) shifting the Android smartphone conversation from “how to bump specs even higher” to “how to make smarter use of the horsepower we already have.” With the Z1 Compact, Sony finally heeded our long-unanswered call for a premium smartphone in a palm-sized package.
Both devices were well received by the Pocketnow team. The Moto X earned high praise for finally fulfilling some of Android’s long-squandered potential, while the Z1 Compact got top marks for bringing the best of the Z1 to a smaller form factor – and leaving some of the bugs behind, too.
But say you’re facing a decision: say it’s time for a palm-able, pocket-friendly Android phone, and you’re stuck on the fence wondering which of these devices to snap up for yourself. Well first watch the comparison below, then make your decision – and then head on over to Clove Technology, which stocks both (and which generously provided the Z1 Compact demo unit for this comparison).
