Samsung’s “new material” smartphone is an iPhone look alike

Samsung is widely believed to be launching the Galaxy Alpha “metallic” smartphone at an event next week on August 13. With just a week to the supposed event, photos of the Galaxy Alpha have leaked that show the device from all possible angles, GSMArena reports.
samsung-galaxy-alpha-leaked-photos_2The photos are similar to what leaked a couple of weeks back, with the only difference being the white color. The Galaxy Alpha boasts a metallic frame, which is a first for the South Korean company. The chamfered edges look deceptively like the ones we saw on the Apple iPhone iPhone 4S.
From what we know so far, the Galaxy Alpha is said to feature a 4.8-inch 720p display, an Exynos 5433 octa-core processor, Mali-T628 GPU, 2GB of RAM, 32GB internal storage, 12-megapixel rear camera, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera and a fingerprint scanner.

WhatsApp voice calling starts rolling out to everyone

Available to select users previously, WhatsApp has commenced rollout of its voice calling feature to all users on Android. The feature is automatically enabled to all users updating to version 2.12.5 of WhatsApp via the Play Store, which brings a revamped user interface sporting three tabs: Calls, Chats and Contacts. Initiating a voice call is as easy as tapping the dialer icon that is available in-chat, or heading to the Calls tab and selecting a contact you wish to call. Both parties need to be on the latest version of the app for the voice calling feature to work. The update is in the process of rolling out, so if you don't see it yet, just give it time.
