HTC One Max review

The One gets supersized - but does it impress? TechRadar's rating Average user rating Not yet rated Share 67 Tweet 12 Share Email TechRadar's verdict "The HTC One Max is almost identical to the One, but with a bigger screen. There's been no attempt to make use of that upgraded size, and given the new features will be appearing on the One in the near future, this means the One Max has very few unique selling points." Nokia X review

TechRadar's verdict "A well built and designed budget smartphone that shows off some of the best of Nokia. It's let down by weak performance, but at the right price it's a strong offering despite an uncertain future." For Strong build quality Low cost Dual SIM flexibility Against Weak performance Dim display Poor battery endurance Page 1 of 8 Introduction Ratings in depth Ever since Nokia decided to go all-in with Windows Phone, there has been a nagging feeling that it would have been better off using Android as its mobile operating system of choice. A feeling that has got stronger as Android devices have so rapidly taken over the lion's share of smartphone sales. At Mobile Web Congress in February 2014, Nokia finally fulfilled this dream by announcing the Nokia X range comprising the Nokia X (reviewed here), a higher specified X+ and the physically larger Nokia XL . Not just one Androi...

Nexus 5 vs. Moto X

Initial reviews of the Nexus 5 weren't so forgiving when it came to assessing its battery performance. However, we've found that over time, the Nexus 5's batter isn't bad at all, and it's very much comparable to other high-end Android devices like the HTC One. However, it still doesn't quite keep up with the Moto X, whose battery can easily last an entire day and then some depending on your usage. If we had to estimate just how much more life, on average, the Moto X gets over the Nexus 5 in terms of juice, we'd say that the Moto X can get up to 4-8 hours more on a single charge than the Nexus 5. At the low end, it might not sound like a huge difference, but those few hours between getting home from work and going to sleep is big - especially if you're going to spend those hours being out on the town. If you're considering either phone and battery life is a dealbreaker for you, we'd highly recommend getting the Moto X. Nexus 5 v...

Sorry ‘GTA 5,’ Apple made more than $5.2 billion this weekend and sold 9 million iPhones.

Grand Theft Auto V may have made entertainment history with $1 billion grossed in its first few days, but all it takes is an iPhone to show how to really move some money. In a press release, Apple revealed that it has already sold more than 9 million iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C smartphones from Friday to Sunday. We don’t know precisely how much money Apple made, but during its last quarter, the company reported an average of $581 per iPhone sold. Multiplying that by the 9 million devices sold and we have an astounding $5,229,000,000. Yep, Apple likely pulled in at least $5.2 billion this weekend on the iPhone 5S and 5C combined. iPhone 5S outsold iPhone 5C by a factor of 3.4x this weekend. This makes the iPhone 5S and 5C a much more successful launch than the iPhone 5 last year , which racked up a still-impressive 5 million in first-weekend sales. It appears that the combination of a second, cheaper, more colorful iPhone 5C; a more innovati...

HTC One (M8) review

Stunning design, loads of power and some big upgrades; HTC's done it again TechRadar's rating Average user rating Editor's Choice award TechRadar's verdict "HTC has done it again: created a stunning phone with very few flaws." For Beautiful design Expandable memory Effective Duo Camera Against Camera poor in bright light See best phone deals Page 1 of 11 Introduction and design Scores in depth I'd hate to be a phone designer these days, trying to achieve unique and exciting features in a jaw dropping package for what is essentially a screen with some extra bits and pieces surrounding it. Compare the latest HTC One (M8) deals So it's all the more impressive that HTC, fresh from making the best-looking phone of 2013, has managed to make the HTC One (M8), a phone crammed full of power and great features while improving the design that won it so many accolades. The poor naming a...
